Precautions
These are the precautions before and after the lip procedure. Please refer to them!
Pre-treatment guidelines
Lip blush is a procedure that lightly layers pigment into the skin, and the color outcome and longevity can vary greatly depending on the condition of the lips.
For beautiful color results, please be sure to follow the guidelines below before the procedure.
1) Moisturizing care (most important)
- For 3–7 days before the procedure, keep lips well moisturized with lip balm or petroleum jelly.
- If the lips are dry or have severe flaking, the color may appear lighter.
2) 24 hours before the procedure
- No alcohol
- Avoid excessive caffeine intake
- Be cautious with medications/supplements that excessively stimulate blood circulation.
3) One week before the procedure
- Lip exfoliation (scrubs) should be done gently only up to 2–3 days before the procedure.
(Strong scrubbing on the day of or immediately before the procedure is prohibited.)
4) For those with a history of herpes (cold sores)
- If you have had cold sores in the past, stimulation from the procedure may trigger a reaction.
Please inform us in advance before booking.
(Preventive medication may be recommended if necessary.)
Lip Blush Aftercare Guide
During the healing process after a lip blush procedure, the color may appear very light or seem almost completely gone.
This is a normal part of the process, and moisturizing care has the greatest impact on color development and longevity.
1) Healing Process (Normal Reactions)
- Days 1–2 : Swelling or warmth may occur, and the color may look darker.
- Days 3–7 : The lips become dry and peeling may occur, with the color fading rapidly. Many people feel like “almost nothing is left” during this stage (this is normal).
- Weeks 2–4 : As healing progresses, the color gradually returns and settles softly.
- Final color stabilization: approximately 4–6 weeks
2) Moisturizing Care (Key to Color Retention)
- Lip blush results truly depend on how well you moisturize.
- For at least 7 days after the procedure : Apply lip balm/moisturizer frequently throughout the day often and generously! When lips dry out, the color fades faster and unevenness is more likely. Even if peeling occurs, never pick let it fall off naturally with proper moisturizing.
- If left dry, The color may become lighter and longevity may decrease.
3) Prohibited for 7 days after the procedure
- Avoid prolonged contact with water on the lips (sauna/swimming pool/steam room)
- Avoid intense exercise or activities that cause heavy sweating
- Avoid alcohol/smoking if possible (delays healing & affects pigmentation)
- No lip makeup such as lipstick or tint
- Be cautious with hot or spicy foods as they may cause irritation
4) Touch-up Information
- Lip blush is not designed to build strong color in one session.
- It is performed using a gentle layering technique to avoid stressing the lips.
Therefore, one touch-up after 6–8 weeks is recommended in most cases (If the natural lip tone is dark or there is pigmentation, more than two sessions may be needed.)
